InCo Jr

InCo Jr. is a program aimed at raising awareness about the importance of creativity and innovation in educational systems. It is also to encourage innovation communication within these systems. It is primarily directed at young people but also includes teachers and workers in Slovenian schools.

One of the key protagonists of innovation in society is the school system, which hopefully is educating new generations of creators, radical thinkers, and motivators of change and innovators. Thus, it is important that we build innovation awareness at all levels of pre-school and educational systems, as well as among youth and kindergarten workers.

Purpose:

  • Raising innovation awareness in the school environment,
  • Encouraging team work and interstructural cooperation on the basis of dialogue,
  • Education of school children and teachers about the basis and potentials of innovation, creative processes and an innovative society,
  • Encouraging our young generations in the ways of creative thinking and innovative actions,
  • Supporting the development of young people's communication skills, and techniques of expression in all the areas of innovation.

Ways of the implementation of the program:
  • Series of workshops and lectures to raise awareness, among students and teachers,
  • Regional meetings of youth participating in the project, at which awards and commendations for best contributions about innovation are presented,
  • National competitions for best student contributions on the topic of innovation, called the “InJo Awards” (four categories: written contribution, photography, painting, multimedia contribution),
  • Mentorship of youth in preparing contributions on innovation,
  • Managing of the InCo Jr. Forum where workshop results are published and various innovation topics discussed (www.incogibanje.si/forum),
  • The annual InCo Conference – a mini conference for youth takes place in parallel to the main conference.
